Habitual Offender Arrested, Illicit IMFL Stock Seized by Brahmapur Sadar Police

Sadar Police arrested 31-year-old Sankar Rout of Balipada village in an early-morning raid on 20 August 2026 and recovered a large quantity of illegal Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL).Acting on specific intelligence, a night-patrolling team led by ASI Debaraj Mallik raided a single-room premises near Ganga Granite, Balipada, around 5:10 AM. Rout was caught red-handed. Police seized beer, whisky, rum and vodka without valid permits, including Budweiser, Kingfisher and Elephant beer, McDowell’s No. 1, Old Monk, Iconic White Whisky, Magic Moments Vodka and Royal Stag.Case No. 536/2026 was registered under Section 52(a) of the Odisha Excise Act, 2008. Citing his habitual criminal record police arrested Rout at 9:40 AM. After medical examination he was produced before the JMFC (Rural), Berhampur.
