“INTER DEPARTMENTAL DAY & NIGHT CRICKET TOURNAMENT-2025” INAUGURATED.

Khoda District, (Sanjiv Kumar):- The “Inter Departmental Day & Night Cricket Tournament-2025” organized by East Coast Railway Sports Association (ECORSA), Khurda Road, inaugurated at Railway stadium, Khurda Road. The tournament will continue up to 7th May 2025. The Railway employees of 13 departments of Khurda Road division are participating in the tournament. For the first time the cricket match at Railway stadium will be held on a Turf pitch made of special soil.

 The Inter Departmental Day & Night Cricket Tournament was inaugurated by Shri H.S.Bajwa, Divisional Railway Manager, Khurda Road. Shri P.K.Behra, Additional Divisional Railway Manager (Operations), Shri Subhra Jyoti Mandal, Additional Divisional Railway Manager (Infra), Shri Himadri Bhushan Biswal, Sports officer and Sr. Divisional Finance Manager, Khurda road, Assistant Sports officers, Shri Avadesh Jaisya and Shri Manish Meena, were present along with all branch officers and staff during the ocassion.

Speaking on the occasion, Shri H.S.Bajwa, conveyed his best wishes to all the departments. He advised all the players to play with skill, teamwork and unwavering spirit, that will push them in achieving their best in the matches.

He congratulated the Khurda Road Sports association for its initiatives to encourage sports activities among the Railway men and others. The Khurda road Sports association is
developing infrastructure at stadium and at other places, he added.

The various departments participating in the tournament are Electrical, Rail Protection Force, Finance, operating, Medical, Stores, Engineering, Electric Loco shed/Angul, Electrical (Operation), Commercial, Personnel, Signal-Telecom and Mechanical.Total 30 league matches will be held among all the departments. On the inaugural day, the first match will be held between Electrical(Operation) and Engineering departments.

Th “Inter Departmental Day & Night Cricket Tournament-2025” is being organized under the guidance of Shri Himadri Bhushan Biswal, Sports Officer and Sr. Divisional Finance Manager, Khurda Road. All the matches will be co-ordinated by Md.Zakiruddin, Sports secretary and his team.
